I live in Guelph, Ontario with my husband. Besides spending time in nature and my garden, I enjoy watching cheesy 80’s romantic comedies.
My purpose in life is to help people overcome their struggles of self-doubt, disconnection and dissatisfaction by spiritually connecting them with their nature allies, who have been waiting to help them.
I love helping people to connect with nature in the specific ways that I’ve learned and witnessing the insights and ‘ah ha’ moments they get as a result.
My training and experience as a Registered Horticultural Therapist, a Plant Spirit Medicine Healer, a Life Satisfaction Coach, and as Creator of The Path Clearing Process has taught me that when you connect with nature in specific ways, you can move forward with your true purpose feeling loved and supported to do so.
We ALL have nature allies and it is my honor to help you connect with them.
About Your Nature Allies
Until I meet you and talk with you about your life situation and challenges, I can’t tell you specifically who your nature allies are.
What I can tell you right now with confidence is that you have friends in nature like plants, the river, and the earth, who, when you connect with them in specific ways, are able to help you access your most authentic self.
What I also know to be true about your nature allies:
- They don’t have a cognitive Ego mind like humans do, and so experience everything as connected.
- They are aware and wise beings who you can learn a lot from.
- They can help you to feel more balance, peace and harmony in your life.
- They can help you to overcome barriers that you’ve been stuck with for a while.
Your nature allies lovingly help you to balance at the spiritual, mental, and emotional levels. You need this balance to express your authentic self and to carry out your true purpose.

I had experienced trauma in my life that caused a noticeable decrease in my confidence and enjoyment in life.
There was a depth, an intimate connection that I wasn’t able to experience with anyone.
I felt hopeless and unsatisfied with life and didn’t feel like I belonged anywhere.
I went from the extremes of feeling either judged or unnoticed.
And sadly, our society makes it so easy to distract ourselves from this kind of pain – and difficult to regain balance.
I found comfort being in nature. I have been fascinated with plants for as long as I can remember.
So as a young adult I pursued a degree in Plant Biology and later became a Registered Horticultural Therapist.
My role as a Horticultural Therapist involved facilitating gardening and nature connection workshops in a community garden with the goal of helping people to find peace and meaning in their lives.
A lot of clients said that the activities they did in the garden made them feel happier, calmer and more interconnected. I realized that they were experiencing a spiritual connection with nature.
This spiritual connection with nature helps people to feel more self-worth and acceptance.
I learned that the sense of low self-worth that so many people feel these days is directly related to their loss of connection with their spirit.
I realized that the more time I spent with plants and in nature, the more my spiritual connection strengthened. I made it a priority to take care of myself. I finally got the professional help I needed to resolve my past traumas and relationships that weren’t healthy.
I felt that the plant and nature allies were doing something that couldn’t be seen but could be felt. They were touching people’s spirits. And I knew I had to learn more.
Being a plant geek, I was always in the plant section of my local library. And a book that always caught my attention was Plant Spirit Medicine written by an initiated elder shaman named Eliot Cowan.
Several times over a few years, I’d take the book off the shelf, look at its cover with curiosity – and then put it back on the shelf. My heart resonated with this book – even though I hadn’t read it yet.
Does that make sense?
And one day I was finally ready for that change. So I finally signed the book out of the library.
I was so intrigued by the stories in this book.
I remember taking the book to a peaceful spot by the river to finish reading it (again). It was due back at the library that day and I had used up all of my renewal requests.
So I was wanting to take in as much as I could from it before having to return it.
Then my friend Mike appeared.
Mike worked at a local used bookstore and was on his lunch break so decided to visit the river too. I thought this was such a coincidence because I hardly ever saw anyone I knew at this particular spot.
But there was Mike. I explained to him that I wanted to spend time with this book before having to return it to the library. He looked at me with surprise – Mike told me that someone had just dropped off that book at his used bookstore yesterday, and did I want him to hold it for me?
It was not long after that, that I decided to receive Plant Spirit Medicine treatments from a healer that lived in a nearby city.
I later found out that it was her who had donated the book to my library!
After receiving Plant Spirit Medicine treatments, I felt a strong urge and confidence in myself that allowed me to start creating a nature connection program that helped people to re-align with their values and life purpose. I call this program The Path Clearing Process (more on this later).
And, it was not long after experiencing the benefits of Plant Spirit Medicine that I decided to become a Plant Spirit Medicine healer myself.
So I completed the Plant Spirit Medicine training which required me to travel to the Blue Deer Center (in the Catskills) over a period of a couple of years.
Here are some of the things I learned there:
- There is so much spiritual illness in the world that stems from insecurity and the shattering of self-esteem. This is the cause of a lot of physical and mental illnesses.
- Physical symptoms are always beneficial: an opportunity to improve your relationships and invite wholeness back into your life.
- A dualistic viewpoint of the world (‘you’ vs ‘me’) is not natural and starves the spirit.
- A non-dualistic viewpoint (‘us’) nourishes the spirit.
- You have an innate non-dualistic viewpoint that resonates within you because your ancestors passed this viewpoint onto you.
- Our wisest elder is the natural world who supports a non-dualistic viewpoint.
- Nature provides you with all of your needs and only asks 2 things of you: take only what you need; and give back in a way that satisfies whom you’ve taken from.
Plant Spirit Medicine uses the 5 Element Tradition to assess where people are imbalanced at the level of the spirit. Plant Spirit Medicine uses not physical medicine, but the spirit of plants to remove energy blockages and imbalances, thereby restoring balance to the person at a very deep level. And it does so in accordance with the laws of nature.
And when we are re-balanced at the level of the spirit, we can finally feel like ourselves again and live the life we came here to live.
My Discovery of The Path Clearing Process
As I received Plant Spirit Medicine treatments myself, another aspect of my purpose revealed itself. It became apparent that another part of my purpose was to help people overcome limiting beliefs caused by their cognitive Ego mind. This led to the creation of my signature life-purpose re-alignment program called The Path Clearing Process.
The Path Clearing Process is a program that combines all of the really important things I’ve learned can really help people overcome their self-doubt, and effectively teaches it in 3 modules.
The Path Clearing Process helps you to overcome your challenges of self-doubt by connecting you with your inner wisdom – a wisdom that you can access with the help of your nature allies.
Learning and doing the techniques in the process help you to feel more love and acceptance for yourself and others; more fulfilled; and more courageous to live according to your values and vision.
