My sweetie and I recently got married. For our honeymoon, we decided to go on a 3 month tour, visiting as many National Parks in Canada as we could.
So far we’ve have been traveling for 13 days. Here are the highlights so far:
Bruce Peninsula National Park in Ontario
Beautiful. The highlight was being at the Grotto, a shoreline cave that you can climb down into. Here, the blue/green waters of Georgian Bay is so clear and breathtaking. The ancient cedar trees that grow in the area are really special. The ancient cedar trees that grow in the area are really special. Click To Tweet
We saw lots of wild columbine plants growing in among the rocks. Here is a video of our experience at Bruce Peninsula National Park: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vauKPLg7Oy0
Pukaskwa National Park in Ontario
We`re very glad we decided to check out this park. We went on a day hike to a suspension bridge that went over the roaring White River. Further on, we walked to a lovely waterfall and admired its beauty. What I wish I had done more of while here was to connect with the stories of the Anishinaabe First Nations.
Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan
This was the most unique park experience I’ve had. Didn’t know that fields of prairie grasses could be so calming. We climbed up and down valleys and saw so many pretty plants including the Wolf Willow which has a beautiful sweet fragrance. It was cool realizing that dinosaurs once roamed the area. We camped at the East Block which very much had a community feel to it. One night we had a campfire with the other camp visitors and were honored to have a local farmer/rancher join us and tell us stories about the area. The next day we did a tour in the West Block and saw lots of prairie dogs and some wild bison.
